At present, when programming 5D keys, customers must have an original OEM 5D key. This is required for successful key addition and data reading.
Upcoming KEYDIY 5D Key Solution – FGB Series
KEYDIY is developing the FGB series key boards, which will allow users to:
- Generate BMW smart keys
- Generate 5D keys directly
- Improve flexibility without relying only on OEM keys
This will significantly expand KD-X4 capabilities for professional users in the UK market.
5C Key Solution – ZB Series Chips
For 5C keys, KEYDIY provides the ZB series chips, which can directly generate 5C keys and are easy to use with KD-X4.
How to Identify FGB vs ZB Chips
You can easily tell the difference:
- FGB series → Two chips on the board (supports BMW & 5D key generation)
- ZB series → One chip only (used for 5C key generation)
